Okay, I’ll be the first to admit that I hoped I was going to be a little further along on my writing when I got to this part of the year. However, the two audio books were certainly worth the wait and the work! With the release of The Fallen, I am now finally free to get back to writing Beyond 2. That book is pretty near completion, with just the conclusion and the ending to finish up.
Afterwards, I need to begin the final edit for Trials of the Teldear, which is scheduled for release early next year. I had hoped for December of this year, but as it is now August, that might be slightly impractical. We’ll see! Partially, I want to dedicate some time to writing special pieces of short fiction that will be up for free on the web site and cross-posted on sites like FA. What I’m planning on working on are interesting “side-stories” that didn’t fit in the other books. For example, I’m curious to write about what happens that causes Van to seek out Kylie for help controlling her fighting instincts. Also, there was some kind of reconciliation between Sahni and her mother between Purebred and The Rescue. Although one may not realize it, there is a significant gap of seasons between chapters 20 and 21 in that book. So, that’s a good nook of time to write in several interesting vignettes! This is more “just for fun” writing which I hope people will find enjoyable, as well. The big books take a lot out of me, and I’d like to try my hand at smaller stories.
Anyway, Kat and I are starting to dabble with the Nassa picture, taking it from the sketch to full version, and also I’m working with someone else for the backgrounds of the Beyond series covers.
