Hi there!

It’s been awhile, but I’ve been doggedly working away on editing The Ascent and The Summit so they will be ready for Amazon.com.  Now, finally (as of this weekend), the last book us up, and that … is … awesome!  Now, I can finally turn my attention to three different activities!

First, I’ve been kept off WRITING for far too long.  I’m looking forward towards getting back into the habit of finding little nooks and crannies of time to burn out to digital paper the one idea that’s been stuck in my mind for like … what, five months now?!?!  Once I do that, then the story will move along.  It’s not like I haven’t been thinking about it, and I have had some pretty good ideas.  If you’ve read the books, you’ll realize that you never hear what “Theo” is thinking unless explained by him verbally or telepathically.  It is always another character observing him.  Why?  Well, honestly, Theo knows too much.  Now, as Vanarra and Sahnassa start taking a journey that leads them closer to what he has become, it would be interesting to start echoing that same concept in the books, as well.  It wouldn’t be every chapter, of course, but perhaps alternating ones.  Also, I’ve been thinking up some pretty interesting villain concepts here, and I have to admit I’m borrowing heavily from one particular actor’s performance in the TV series “Dune”, and I would bet money it’s not who you think it is (Nope, ain’t the barron).

Okay, yeah, obviously I have a lot of passion behind item number one.  Second, I need to work on this web site.  It’s nice and all, but it’s not a very good “landing page” for an add.  So, for example, if I put an add on a website, it’s going to lead here.  Whoever is kind enough to click the add is going to spend about ten seconds looking at, but ONLY IF IT’S INTERESTING!  So, I need to make it a little more interesting than it is now.  It’s needs a bit more of the “wow” factor.  Second, there are a few questions that probably need to be answered (think FAQ), and some considerations given to smaller formats like tablets (where the font appears pretty darn small).

Third, I need to put some adds together.  I’ve been thinking through variations of “flippy” GIF type adds for one of the major websites, but that needs to be given some attention, too.  However, like I said, figure out your landing page BEFORE you design your add.  You never get a second chance to make a first impression (duh), so I want to make it a good one.  Readers who are kind enough to give me their time and their money deserve nothing less.  Also, I’m considering putting a piece of “free” reading (in the canon of the books, but not in any of the books) on the website for download.  Maybe even me reading some of it.  I don’t know!  However, by God’s grace, in time, perhaps I will.

Until then, God Bless, and take care.
