PUBLISHING DIARY: An end, a middle, and a beginning!  The surprising non-linear way of writing a linear story can be a bit surprising.  For example, take this weekend.  Last week, the editors finished their work on Beyond: Conversion, and I made their updates to the manuscript and even ran a new tool across it as well, namely Grammarly (grammarly.com), finding a few more undiscovered “bugs” that needed to be fixed.  So, this weekend, have I only been formatting this new version into the eBook format and print format?  No!

Oh, don’t get me wrong, I have done that, and by the end of this weekend, the “models” for the print and eBook will be largely done.  However, as I take steps to finish book 2, I am also trying to push Beyond:Ascension into the middle of the process (book 3 in the series) so I can get it out to the editors for a quick turn-around (want to get 2 books out this year).  That’s not all!

I am finding myself still editing and updating the new book that will follow the final core book of The Thurian Saga, namely The Legacy of Aris.  It’s funny, but one of the things that motivates me to finish a book and get it out for publication is that it frees me up to work on new things!  In the end, that’s what I’m always trying to get to.  I’m excited about the books after the Beyond series and all of the new characters to meet and worlds to visit!

I hope you will join me on this journey!  I would hope to have book 2 out by the end of May, and (hopefully) book 3 out by the end of this year (I’d love for it to be sooner, but life, vacations, work, etc.).  Trust me, it will be worth the wait. I love the ending!

See you in the future!
