PUBLISHING DIARY:  Clearing the way, finishing book 10!  Yep, you read that right!  I have just finished the manuscript for Beyond: Ascension, the 3rd book in the Beyond series and the 10th I’ve written to date!  That’s why the “PUBLISHING DIARY” has been taking a break, because I really felt that I needed to keep pressing forward while I had all of the ideas in my head.  Now, that I have written “The End” and an exciting epilogue, I’m finally free to devote my time to reviewing Beyond: Conversion, the second book in that series that I’m getting ready for publication.

I’ve also been working through getting some issues resolved for my editors.  Let’s be honest, there is a LONG time between books (about six months), and with technology changes and many other factors, there’s a bit of “rediscovery” that has to happen each time.  So, I think that both of my editors have or will have, as of today, versions of the book they can import to tablets and start reviewing.

It’s really a good feeling to finish the manuscript that essentially ends this arc of the Thurian Saga.  Also, it frees me to work on other literary projects (other stories and characters).  The great part about writing “long-arc” fiction is that you really, really know the characters and their histories.  The difficult part about writing “long-arc” fiction is that you really have to keep that all in your head for continuity’s sake.  That’s a heavy burden after ten books!  I started writing The Rescue back in 2007, and so it’s nearly ten years worth of data!  (I only started publishing in 2014.)

So, in the meantime, here are my “plans” for what they are worth.  First (obviously) prepare Beyond: Conversion for publication.  Second, begin writing book 11, which will NOT be in the same story arc as the others, but will feature characters from the same in places.  Third, prepare Beyond: Ascension for publication.  Finally, I want to take the short stories from this site and the wonderful illustrations by Kat Miller, and publish those as an addendum (or bonus), along with any other short stories I might come up with.  I have a couple of ideas, but I’ll keep those under wraps right now.

Okay, bless you if you made it this far (and bless you if you didn’t)!  Take care and hopefully, late February or March, we’ll have a new book for you to read!

See you in the future!
