So, it’s March 18th, and the first chapter and introduction to “Fallen” are complete.  With a universe that has so rich a history (not just patting myself on the back here – there are five books in this series), you can’t bring up everything that’s happened.  At some point, that becomes self-defeating.  Eventually, one third of a new book would be all back story!  That’s about as interesting as the little yellow and black book summaries people buy when they don’t want to actually read a book.

No, I’m not going there.  What I’m trying to do in the introduction and first chapter are highlight issues, characters, and events that will have an impact on the events of this book. I’m setting the stage before the “action” begins in chapter 2.  I’m also giving those who “like” the characters from the previous books to get an update on what’s been happening to them in the last “season.”  This book happens about one season after the events in “The Summit,” and Van and Sahni have a lot of catching up to do, since they’ve been separated for the last three “moons.”  It’s that backdrop of catching up that allows the reader to see the kind of rapport they have with one another, how they spend time together, and what matters to them.  It’s all scene setting for what’s to come…  More soon!
