I have finally written the fateful two words for Beyond: Transformation, book NINE of the Thurian Saga! I’m going to have to confess that this time, the end slipped up on me. I’ve taken to going to a certain hotel lobby and writing in the mornings, and I thought I made some really good progress, but when I settled in for my writing time this evening, I realized that everything was tied up! To use a baking analogy, add a final layer of frosting and cherry, and this book is done!
What that means, in a practical sense, is that I’m going to write the epilogue and then convert the entire book to MP3 for a full listen through. It, like its predecessors, is not short. This one (which still has a little bit to add in the epilogues) is around 254,000 words. Once I finish this series with book three (Beyond: Ascendency), I might try some shorter stuff, faster reads in the novel or novella space, but … I’ve tried that in the past and got a book I had to divide in two. We’ll see.
In the short term, the next “task” is continue editing Trials and get it ready for publication. With Christmas and everything else, I’m thinking … January. Yeah, January at the earliest.
Let me also give a tip of the hat to Gen Whitmore and the Littletales community for their massively successful fundraiser for Big Cat Rescue. They amassed more than $15,000 for that very charitable charity.
See you in the future!
