Legacy Edits are Done! Woo-hoo! After going through this book with all of the fine-toothed combs at my disposal, the edited manuscript is now ready for formatting! That’s an important step, because that will tell me how many pages we have, and then that will enable the final version of the cover to be created!
While I have been doing some initial editing of Enemy Deity, most of my focus has been on Legacy work. Now, as is always the case, I will be happy for any edits anyone sends me. I have to accept that the work will never be perfect, but it’s the best I can do, and I’m not unhappy with that.
On the surface, it also appears that I have been successful in one of my key goals for this venture – namely to write a SHORTER BOOK! It still has to contain enough detail to be a compelling story, but some of the huge books (like Ascension at nearly 670 pages) are just a bit much for someone to “try out.” So far, the page count for Legacy is only 338 pages, but that’s not where it’s going to stop.
Formatting, graphics, fender-work (like the inner title details, table of contents, dedications, meet the author, word from the author, etc.) will add more pages, not take away from them. So right now, 338 pages is the “least” that it can be (minus making the font size crazy small).
I’m looking forward to this one, as it’s a departure from the original arc of The Thurian Saga, but contains several characters from those stories. I hope you will, too!
Thanks, and see you in the future! JTL
