When I was growing up, we had next door neighbors with kids about the same age as me and my sister.  One of those, recently, via Facebook, saw a note that I had updated my writing blog and was surprised to find out that I write books!  Now, it’s not the first time I’d let that fact out on FB, but the truth is that there are so many posts that fly by that it’s not at all a surprise that people don’t see everything you write.

Anyway, I directed her to the website, and she was interested, so I sent her a spare copy of The Rescue.  Less than a week after receiving it, here is what I got in e-mail…

“Okay I loved it! I need the next book now please:). Do you want me to send this one back to you? It was excellent. I don’t read very often because of the interruptions from kids etc, but I couldn’t put it down. Thank you!!! Or I could send this one to [my brother].  I think he’d like it too. You just tell me what to do Todd de Lewis!”

Well, I was grateful (and that was really nice to hear), but I’m at a big formatting log jam trying to print off hard cover copies of my books from my print-on-demand outfit (my Christmas present), and … honestly, that’s not an inexpensive option.  I sent her my old Kindle instead, and she polished off the second book a week after receiving that!  I can tell from her subsequent e-mails that she’s really into the story and world.

You know, it’s okay that not everyone likes what I write – that’s life.  There is a lot of competing entertainment and demands on people’s time.  However, there are those who do, and those people are very definitely true blessings to me.  First and foremost, of course, is my darling wife – my biggest fan of all!

Take care, and hopefully, I’ll have another update soon. 🙂
