Hi there!

Hope you and yours are doing well!  As for us … we’ve been doing a number of large home projects.  In short, my house is about 10 years old, and as you might guess, all of the original “contractor” grade systems are falling apart, but thanks to the grace of God, we have been able to take care of it.  Nevertheless, if you’ve read my essay about “writing time”, you’ll know that there is only so much writing time available on the daily clock, and these projects have been eating up SCADS of time.  However, does that mean I’ve been completely idled?  That no writing related stuff has been going on?  Well, no (again, by God’s grace), perish the thought.  First, Beyond: Incarnation has had a good review from one of the two editors and it garnered high praise!

Second, Kat Miller is working on some awesome artwork for the covers of the Beyond series.  Here’s a little preview of the works in progress!

The characters you see are Van, Sahni, and a new character who I’ll call “Nas” for now.  These covers are going to be highly detailed to give the reader a really good look at the faces of the characters.  It will also help tie the series together.  I have been doing some writing, as well (just not as much as I’d like, but then again, I’m enjoying the replacements to the house, too!).

Now, also, I’ve been “listening through” the books from The RescueThe AftermathThe Ascent, and The Summit.  This is my way of coming up to speed to make sure that when I begin the review of The Fallen, I’ll have the details from the other books fresh in my mind.  Hopefully, I’ll set that book up on my Kindle so I can perform the final, pre-publish edit.

I was hoping to do the “Share and Like” campaign with The Summit, but that campaign kind of dovetails with the Purebred audio book.  I’m exploring some other distribution alternatives right now, and that may take a month to resolve, one way or another.  I’m going to hold off until I can get that settled.  In the meantime, the audio book is still available at Amazon.com and iTunes, and it’s free with an Audible.com subscription.

One other little thing I’m thinking about (and have actually taken some action on) is to create a mini-poster of Purebred‘s cover and free copies of the book that will be available at Megaplex, the Orlando Anthro Convention in late July.  I’m working out the final details of how to make it available, but so far, someone very nice has been offering to help me with that!

So, the last few weeks haven’t been full of a lot of nothing – there’s actually been quite a lot!

Take care and God Bless,
JTL
