Okay, so “conventioning” isn’t exactly a word, and the lovely bright red underline in my browser tells me that quite plainly. However, that really describes what I’m doing!

WRITING –  I believe I’ve just finished up writing chapter five in the second book of the Beyond series (still waiting for a good title to come to me), and we’re knocking around at like 80 pages or so.  Initial reviews from my number one fan have been very positive, and the story is kind of organically progressing along.  Sometimes, I have a very specific plan for how a novel goes; sometimes, I just have an aim.  This novel is the later kind.  However, so far, so good!

PLANNING –  I’ve started putting some feelers out (it didn’t help that an artist friend of mine dared me to do it) on the best equipment to create an e-book with.  I’ve had several say that they don’t have time to read a book, but they love audio books.  For a number of reasons, I’ve wanted to do this, and I’ve gathered some of the equipment, but I need to get some more to ensure a good listener experience.  It’s not anything I plan to start right away, but by the end of this calendar year (when I expect Beyond 2 to be done), I would like to utilize my “time off” to record the book.  Also, if sales go well, then I’ll also look at publishing Purebred.  In many ways, that’s my favorite book because it captures so many details of the characters and their beginnings.

ADVERTISING – That’s probably why you’re here, because I’ve been doing some advertising.  Thank you very much for coming for a look!  I’m advertising on FA, and also looking at a very reasonable convention book add for Megaplex.  Hopefully, it will get accepted, and then that will be a little more exposure.  I’m not able to bankroll a Madison Avenue style campaign, but I’m pretty pleased with how things are going so far.  It’s all good!

CONVENTIONING – Yes, spell check, I know.  Thank you.  I am planning on being at Megaplex this year in Orlando.  It’s fairly close to where I live, so that’s a good thing.  It’s a great medium sized convention with a lot of nice people.  If you get a chance, consider stopping by.  It’s very interesting and entertaining.

That’s it for now!  Thanks again for stopping by!  If you have any comments about what’s on the site or things you’d like to see, please let me know at author (at) jamestoddlewis.com.

See you in the future!
